Tribit recently released the upgraded XSound Plus 2 portable Bluetooth speaker just in time for summer. Which is fantastic because a portable speaker is almost a must for summer gatherings, beach days, backyard BBQs and late evening rendezvous. The Tribit XSound Plus 2 portable speaker is loaded with features and a battery length for around-the-clock enjoyment!

First Look:

The Tribit XSound Plus 2 portable speaker arrives neatly packaged in a sturdy box. In the box is the speaker (with an attached lanyard), directions, and a USB-C charging cable. One of the first things I observe is that the charging port has a rubber cover. This is a really great feature which I know will help keep the charging port clean and free from sand or other debris. Which gives me greater confidence in using the XSound Plus 2 at the beach or for other summer activities.

The directions are clear and straightforward. In fact, before I’ve even read the directions I have the XSound Plus 2 connected to my phone through Bluetooth. It really is that intuitive and easy to use. Overall, the XSound Plus 2 looks sleek and compact. I appreciate that it is stylish and understated, and that it is designed well for easy travel and use.

Experience:

My first listening encounter with the Tribit XSound Plus 2 portable speaker reveals a rich and immersive audio experience. The sound is crisp, clear, and powerful. I love that it comes equipped with Bluetooth 5.3. This means the XSound Plus 2 provides up to 150ft of wireless range. For me this is perfect for outdoor settings where I can wander without having to leave my phone right next to the speaker. I also and intrigued that I can enhance my audio experience by linking speakers together.

A feature of the XSound Plus 2 that I am dying to try out is the multi-speaker pairing for stereo sound. With the One-Click Teaming feature, I quickly connect two XSound Plus 2 speakers. (It can also seamlessly pair with the StormBox Flow wireless speaker). I am astonished that they correctly register and audibly identify as left and right speaker. With another click of the button, they adjust to party mode. I love the versatility for either massive sound for group settings or functioning compatibly as bookshelf speakers.

One thing I would like to see changed or updated is the charging light. Similar to the StormBox Flow, the charging indicator light turns off after it is fully charged, rather than turning a different color to indicate the speaker is fully charged. This may seem like a minor issue, but it can lead to thinking that the speaker is fully charged when in actuality the speaker isn’t receiving power from the charging cord.

Features and Specs:

The XSound Plus 2 is a customized sound adventure! One of the most distinguishing features is the EQ button which boasts 3 distinct listening modes. A short press of the EQ button will adjust the XSound Plus 2 to the XBass mode (indicated by the white light). Another short press of the EQ button will put the XSound Plus 2 into audiobook mode. If you want to turn the XBass mode off, simply press the EQ button until the light goes off and enjoy without the XBass boost. Additionally, the XSound Plus 2 is a truly personalized and immersive audio experience featuring 6 default app settings for limitless customization.

The XSound Plus 2 weighs a reasonable 1.76 pounds and is roughly 198.5mm x 66.5mm x 70mm. It only takes about four hours to charge, and delivers up to 24 hours of play time. I love that it has an IPX7 waterproof grade. This means it can be submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes without any damage.

Additionally, the XSound Plus 2 has two 15W speakers which deliver 30W of crisp clarity. Equipped with neodymium full-range drivers, the advanced DSP and amplifiers give a maximum transmission power of ≤6dBm. Combined with the XBass patented algorithm the XSound Plus 2 elevates the portable speaker listening experience to new heights.

Summary:

The XSound Plus 2 is compact, sleek, and powerful. I love how the XSound Plus 2 allows me to effortlessly connect multiple speakers for immersive audio experiences indoors and outdoors, anytime, anywhere. The 24 hour play time means this speaker won’t quit until I do. It has plenty of features for even the most stringent audiophile, and yet is simple enough for anyone to use. With 24 hours of non-stop playing ability, and a plethora of features, the Tribit XSound Plus 2 radiates excellence and resonates brilliance.
