For those who love pairing a cool refreshment with a change of scenery, you already know a good travel cooler is a must-have. The Titan by Arctic Zone 16qt Backpack Cooler is the perfect solution for adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts. I had the chance to test their Eco 16 Qt Cooler with Ice Walls, and the results were chilling (literally).
Best features of the Titan by Arctic Zone Backpack Cooler
What I really appreciated about Titan’s ECO 16qt backpack cooler was that every element was built for practicality. Even down to the material itself, this bag is ready for adventure. A stain and water-resistant exterior makes it super easy to clean. Titan’s use of Microban protection keeps it that way. The cooler has tons of pockets as well (one of my favorite features on almost anything). And with two breathable drink nets, an extra front pouch, and a zipped compartment on top? It’s the hiker’s dream. A bungee design across the front and a built-in bottle opener also maximalize efficiency. Titan definitely knows their audience.
But as nice as it is to have the extra space, you almost wouldn’t even need it. The backpack features a deep freeze interior with tons of space (24 cans worth). While testing it out I fit a ton of drinks and a full lunch for myself inside, and I still had tons of space left over.
Plus, it was super easy to carry. That’s a huge win. The last thing you want when you’re carrying a cooler full of drinks around is to feel like you’re carrying a cooler full of drinks around. Even when I packed it full, the straps stayed comfortable. The option to buckle the straps together also helped distribute the weight a little and keep the bag secure. The bag looked cool as well. I chose it in Sharkskin Gray, and I thought it looked very sleek. While wearing it I didn’t feel or look like an overburdened turtle. That’s honestly shocking for how much I actually could fit inside (something like a modern-day Mary Poppins bag).
Does the Titan by Arctic Zone 16qt Eco Backpack Cooler with Ice Walls really stay that cold?
Bells and whistles aside, the most practical element of a cooler is whether it really keeps things cold. Without a doubt, The Titan by Arctic Zone 16qt Backpack Cooler does. The bag is heavily insulated, and it comes with two ice walls that slide into their own pouches to keep the contents cool all day long. I put them in the freezer overnight before use and was actually shocked at how well they worked. This cooler really is a hiker’s best friend, but I got more use out of it than just hiking trips. I even brought it with me for a day of errands. Our drinks stayed as cool as if I’d just grabbed them from the refrigerator. In fact, I actually left the ice packs and a drink I had forgotten about in the bag overnight. I rediscovered it nearly 40 hours later only to find that the drink was still cold–now that’s chilling.
Low temps and low prices: It’s worth it
Titan really lived up to their name on this one. It’s no wonder they can say they’re the top soft cooler brand in the United States. The ECO 16qt backpack cooler offers quality performance, and they do it at a super affordable price. Right now, it is priced at $49.99 at Target, with similar models available at Walmart and on Amazon as well. It’s not uncommon to see backpack coolers jump to well over $100. This makes Titan by Arctic really stand out from their competitors. The only issue I ran into was that the external pouches were a little snug, which limited what I could fit inside those pockets. But like I said earlier, the main compartment is big enough. To make the extra pouches any bigger would have also made the backpack’s silhouette bulkier, and I prefer the compact design.
I’m actually really excited to keep using this cooler. That may sound a little strange, but I know it means I’m set for future hikes and beach trips with friends. As summer gets closer and closer, those are trips I’m especially looking forward to knowing I’ll get good use out my cooler. If you’re looking for a great cooler yourself (or an excuse to stock up on fun drinks), the way to go is the Titan by Arctic 16qt Eco Backpack Cooler.
