Go hands-free with Momcozy’s Wearable Pump

Breast Milk is often considered “liquid gold” as it provides optimal nutrition for babies. It can fight off viruses and bacteria. It protects against illnesses. It has everything a baby needs for their first six months of life with all of the right proportions. Breastfeeding has been a magical part of my life for the last three months that my son has been wiggling around on earth. However, as maternity leave comes to an end, I was in need of a breast pump to keep on supplying milk for my little one as I’m away during the workday. This is where I discovered MomCozy’s M5 All in One Wearable Breast Pump

First Impressions and Features

A breast pump that comes in its own stylish yet sleek hard-shell storage bag. I was immediately impressed. Upon opening, the M5 lives up to its name by having everything all in one. The motor, battery, flanges, and the container that holds the milk – all built into a sturdy wearable pump. No more messing with tubes, wires, or tricky collection bags. Everything I needed was compacted in two small, rounded motors. With previous pumps I’ve owned, the setup has always been complex and irritating. I was expecting that to be the case with the M5 but was pleasantly surprised when it only took a few minutes due to the minimal parts. I fully charged both motors overnight, and then was ready to see if it lived up to the hype I was hoping for. Spoiler alert: It was.

One of the most intriguing features about the M5 is the baby-mouth structure which allows the user to pump horizontally creating a suckling effect rather than the common pulling sensation that most pumps provide. I have found other pumps to be painful and as they pull upward or downward. Next, the M5 includes various modes on the device to meet the needs of all moms. There’s a “mixed” mode for a gentler approach, a “stimulation” mode which warms up the milk ducts before pumping, and finally an “expression” mode for pumping deeply. The M5 breast pump has nine vacuum pressure settings for each mode to meet your preferred setting. Finally, as it would be the most important feature, the M5 is completely hands free. Did I have my suspicions that it wouldn’t actually live up to its name? Yes. I was happy to be proven wrong.

The M5 does fit comfortably in your bra for a hands-free pumping session. I wouldn’t advise bending over too much or making any haste movements, but you are able to freely move around while pumping at the same time. When it came to transferring the freshly expressed milk, it did take me a few times to move the milk to its storage bags without it spilling over. I haven’t quite mastered this yet so that’s one con of the M5, but not totally surprising as the milk isn’t being pumped directly into milk collection bottles.

Final Thoughts

There’s been so much to learn as a new mom. It can be overwhelming attempting to figure out breastfeeding, pumping, and even storing the milk. What I really appreciate about the M5 is that it makes something so big as feeding your baby a little bit easier. It’s completely hands-free which allows me to hold and interact with my baby unlike a typical stationary pump. Time is precious, and having a hands-free pump that isn’t complicated makes life just a little bit easier. I found the milk leaking out while transferring to a milk storage bag disappointing, but not enough to not recommend the M5. With a little practice, the transfer will become easier. Overall, the M5 is easy to assemble and use. It has multiple settings and range for every type of mom. It fits on comfortably and isn’t clumsy. I have used the pump for a few weeks now, and only have needed to charge the battery fully once upon arrival. The M5 is sleek, compact, and exactly what I was looking for. Whether I’m away from my baby all day at work or on a date night with his dad, I have the peace of mind that pumping is going to be simple yet effective to feed my son.
