As a pet owner these last few years (both a cat and a dog), I can tell you that there are two ways to clean up pet stains. One is the more obvious “accident” which is where a spot cleaner comes in handy. The other is just the normal wear and tear of a pet traveling to and fro on your carpet. Recently, I tested the Kenmore RevitaLite Pet Carpet Cleaner which can handle both duties easily enough, but is designed for whole carpet cleaning as well.
Kenmore RevitaLite Pet Carpet Cleaner specs
At a reasonable price of just $160 (and much cheaper on Amazon), the Kenmore RevitaLite Pet Carpet Cleaner is not meant to be a professional-level cleaner like the RugDoctor you might rent for deep cleaning. Instead, it’s for everyday cleaning and working on those little accidents I mentioned. As such the Kenmore RevitaLite Pet Carpet Cleaner has a distinct purpose.
I used one each week for normal cleaning, thinking it would likely mean I didn’t need to rent one of those more expensive machines — and I was right. Keeping up on the weekly cleaning is smart because it’s less work and less expense. The Kenmore RevitaLite Pet Carpet Cleaner only weighs about 19 pounds so it is easy to grab from a closet and use routinely.
The clean water tank holds just over 3 liters and the dirty tank holds about 1.4 liters. I found these specs to be perfect for what I wanted to do, which was run the steamvac over certain areas where we allow pets and not bother doing a deep cleaning that can take all afternoon. The machine runs at 6.4 amps and has a 25-foot cord.
Kenmore RevitaLite Pet Carpet Cleaner performance results
Right away, I noticed how the everyday cleaning with this machine really helped with general pet maintenance. My carpets looked cleaner each week, as opposed to waiting until I rented a higher-end machine. I also did some spot cleaning and the only real issue was a coffee stain that had been there for many years. Kenmore reps told me some stains can be so embedded that it is not a cleaning project for a steamvac so much as a long-term stain.
I also noticed I could experiment a lot with the cleaning solution — it says it right on the bottle. Three caps is for lighter duties, but when I added more like 10 caps of liquid the steamvac really pulled up the stains. One area of my office had a pet stain from hair and muck that came right up when I used a little more cleaning solution than usual.
Kenmore RevitaLite Pet Carpet Cleaner price and final results
At just $160 (or about $133 on Amazon), the Kenmore RevitaLite Pet Carpet Cleaner is a really smart buy if you are on the same page as far as weekly steam cleaning. I prefer that to taking up way more time, and the result is a cleaner house overall. My final take was that this is a great machine for light cleaning to keep up on pet maintenance or just everyday cleaning.
