Get charged up wirelessly

I remember when wireless charging first became a big deal. I had an iPhone 7 Plus when the iPhone 8 came out. The one big difference that I immediately noticed I was missing was the ability to charge wirelessly. Now I prefer to wirelessly charge whenever possible. There is just something about being able to drop my phone down and know it’s charging. It feels like I am stepping back in time if I have to physically plug in my phone.

While I have slowly grown my collection of wireless chargers, I have learned that my needs change based on where I am. At home, my bedside wireless charger needs are different from what I want on my desk at the office, and again different from what I want to carry in my bag.

Here are three options that I currently use and love.

Logitech Powered 3-in-1 Dock

This three-in-one dock is absolutely wonderful for my bedside. I can wirelessly charge my iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch all in one sleek unit. Though I use it for Apple devices, the Logitech Powered 3-in-1 Dock is compatible with all Qi charging devices. I love the ability to charge at an angle on my bedside. I used to have a power strip to accommodate so many devices charging at my bedside. I’d have a wireless charger for my phone and another for my watch. Now, having it all in one system, I’m truly streamlined. Additionally, the Logitech matte finish is beautiful to the eye and to touch. The 3-in-1 dock has room for a third Qi wireless charging device. Designed to charge AirPods, I find myself sometimes putting another phone or other Qi-enabled device there as well. The one downside is that it is a barrel connector for power, as opposed to USB-C. However, this is not a reason not to get this charger in the slightest. I love using my Logitech Powered 3-in-1 Dock on my bedside table.

Nomad Base Station Apple Watch Edition

I don’t know about you, but on my desk, I prefer cables to be hidden, and the power to be accessible where I need it. I hate when I have to dig behind my desk to find an outlet just to quickly plug in my dying iPad Pro or iPhone. Having my Nomad Base Station Apple Watch Edition on my desk has been a dream come true. I can wirelessly charge my iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch — and more. The Base Station has an 18W USB-C PD port as well as a 7.5W USB-A port. This puts capable charging right at the center of my desk. I can charge everything I need right out of this one sleek, padded leather wireless charging unit. As I mentioned with the last unit, this unit also has a barrel connector. Having the ability to charge five units at once has changed the productivity and capability of my desk setup — and I love it.

Anker PowerWave+ Pad with Watch Holder

With the desire to wirelessly charge devices in every scenario, I began to search for the best way to do the same portably. Anker released the PowerWave+ Pad with Watch Holder. This has been the perfect addition to my bag and my wireless charging ecosystem. Now, while I travel or work on the go, I can feed my desire for wireless charging. One of the best parts about this portable setup is that it is powered via the common Micro USB cable. It’s very slim and perfect to put in a backpack. This has been a wonderful portable charging device for travel and everyday use.
