This light and powerful laptop doesn’t weigh a brick

Makers make and creators create. Acer is banking on us creators to go with the uber portable thin and light Swift X series for our future creative needs. As a creator, you need the right amount of power to do the job. I always stay away from ultra-light laptops due to the usual lower power capabilities that are coincided with the smaller form factor. My mindset has changed after using Acers Swift X. Acer packed a lot of power in the Swift X design. My review model comes with the snappy AMD Ryzen 7 5825U Processor. A nice surprise with NVIDIAs GeForce RTX 350Ti with 4GB dedicated memory, 16 GB of ram, and 512 GB of internal SSD. This was more than enough to handle video editing on DaVinci Resolve as well as relax with one of my favorite hobbies. If I can get my video editing done and use the same light and powerful laptop to become Elden Lord I’m all ears.

In my experience, there are a ton of creatives that like to game as well. With the power of the Nvidia RTX 350Ti you can get some good gaming sessions in. I tested it with the classic Call of Duty Warzone. Don’t expect maxed-out stats at 144hz however, I had a solid experience that pleasantly surprised me. The Swift X even has a function option for your fans so you get the best performance possible. I didn’t win but that’s not the point. I can see myself throwing a controller in my backpack heading to a coffee shop to get some work done and maybe getting a win or two in. Sure other laptops are capable of this but most have a huge footprint and weigh a brick.

Acers Swift X Design is sleek and light. The aluminum booty…I mean body… has a nice cool to the touch texture. The thin design comes in at 17.1mm with a measly weight of 1.39 kg which is about the same weight as a bag of sugar, a bag of rice, a bottle of water,…etc. Yes, I googled that. The point is this laptop is extremely light. With the light thin frame, there is still room for ports. 1 USB type C, 2 USB Type-A connections, an HDMI 2.0 port, and the classic Headphone Jack for you analog nerds. For those who hate cords, the swift X comes with Bluetooth 5.2 for a strong connection. Oh and Wi-Fi 6 for the fastest speeds possible. With all these cool features you’ll be staring at this screen quite a bit.

Good thing the screen is a sharp full HD IPS display. The cherry on top is that it is 100% sRGB for the creators. The coolest feature that the swift X has is ACER’s BLUELIGHTSHIELD. I’ve become a lot more conscious of how much I look at screens lately, spoiler alert, it’s a lot. With this feature, you can adjust the amount of blue light emitted by your screen.

The top-of-the-line ACER Swift X light and powerful laptop comes in at $1,099. The entry-level starts at $849. You don’t need a brick house anymore to create and play some video games on a laptop. The Swift X brought that X-factor I was looking for.
