Thermacell EL55 is a great addition to outdoor comfort

As a seasoned outdoorsman, I’ve tried my fair share of mosquito repellents and gadgets. The Thermacell EL55 mosquito repeller, however, has truly revolutionized my outdoor experience. The Thermacell EL55 is a powerhouse in mosquito control. Here’s why this device has earned a permanent spot in my camping arsenal:

Efficient Mosquito Defense

As a long time resident in a state where the mosquito is often referred to as the state bird, I’ve battled these bloodsuckers for decades. Now, I no longer have to drench myself in chemicals to enjoy the great outdoors. Thermacell’s technology employs a zone of protection ensuring that pesky mosquitoes stay at bay without the need for messy lotions or sprays. The repeller boasts a 20ft protection zone allowing for ample coverage of a deck or fire ring.

Easy to Use

One of the things I appreciate most about the Thermacell EL55 is its simplicity. It’s as easy as inserting the fuel cartridge and pressing the ignition button. Within minutes, you can feel the area around you becoming a mosquito-free zone. The hassle-free operation makes it a must-have for anyone who values convenience.

The Thermacell EL55 proves itself to be a workhorse when it comes to battery life. It’s long lasting performance adds a layer of reliability not found in many other repellent devices. The rechargeable battery lasts for more than two evening campfire sessions or over five hours. When you do need to recharge, there is a standard USB-C port. Most customers appreciate standard plugs over proprietary charging ports and cables.

With just a simple push of a button, the glow light is another cool feature. I was a little concerned that additional light would draw other bugs, but aside from the occasional moth there wasn’t much attention drawn to the device. The soft light added just enough to the setting to prevent us from tripping over chairs or dogs, while sitting out by the lake at night.

The replacement cartridges can be purchased in variable sizes or lengths, are easy to install and small enough to carry a backup along. I am not certain the cartridge lasts the full advertised length. I only used two while reviewing the product which may not be enough to speak definitively.

Portable and Compact

Portability is crucial for me, especially when packing for camping trips. The EL55’s compact design and lightweight construction make it easy to throw into my vehicle without taking up much space. I have added this to my camping gear and have used it on the outside of my tent.

We can now avoid the annoying buzzing in our tent while we sleep. Even when trying our best, we seem to always allow a few mosquitoes through the screen door so I really appreciate a device like this over the use of toxic spray around the tent or on the clothes. The portability doesn’t extend to walking around though, and in spite of its light weight, is not a great option for hiking. Thermacell has other offerings to cover your family on the go. Check out this other great portable product from Thermacell.

Versatile Outdoor Companion

Whether I’m hanging out by the lake, camping in the woods, or simply enjoying my backyard smoker, the Thermacell EL55 has proven to be a versatile companion. It adapts seamlessly to different outdoor scenarios, providing consistent protection against mosquitoes in various environments.

In conclusion, the Thermacell EL55 is perfect for those of us who refuse to let mosquitoes ruin our outdoor experiences. Its efficient mosquito defense, user-friendly design, long-lasting performance, portability, and versatility make it a top-tier product in the world of mosquito repellents. I can confidently say that the EL55 has earned its place as a must-have tool for any adventurer.

  1. I am not sure where you’re getting your info, but good topic. I needs to spend some time learning much more or understanding more. Thanks for magnificent info I was looking for this information for my mission.

    1. Thnx for the note. The size makes it a bit harder for travel, like flight, etc, but sitting on a desk, dock, picnic table, it worked great. The smaller item I linked towards the end of the review seems better for travel, though I admit I haven’t used it myself.
