This water bottle has me drinking a lot more water than I used to

Drinking water with Free-Sip Straw

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” “You should floss more.” “You should drink more water.” “You shouldn’t drink so much soda/coffee/sweet drinks.”

These are common phrases we’ve all heard before. Maybe you’re really good at some of these, or maybe you’re like me and not great at any. Regardless, drinking water really is something that we should all be doing more of.

I’ve always been the kind of person who, if the water is cold, will down it quickly and in large quantities. However, if it’s warm or I have to go get it, I tend to gravitate toward an easier or colder beverage.

Avana recently released the Beckridge insulated water bottle with Freesip straw (and Freesip spout) technology. This water bottle has reinvented the way I drink water. Now I find myself drinking more water and actually enjoying it. Here are some of the reasons why.

Freesip

The Freesip straw is incredible. I never liked drinking out of straws before, but this one isn’t like anything I’ve ever experienced before. The Freesip straw is built into the lid and runs down the side of my Beckridge water bottle. All the while, the rest of the lid is open allowing for two modes of drinking — swig through the open spout or sip through the straw. Purely for research purposes, I used the spout once to take a quick swig of water. Every other time I have found myself returning to the built-in straw lid for ease of use.

Insulation

Back to the cold versus warm water debate: I have always preferred cold water. When my past water bottles would be easy to drink out of, easy to carry, and great looking, yet lack insulation, I would be disappointed. The Beckridge is lined with triple-layer stainless steel double wall insulation, keeping my drinks cold for up to 24 hours or warm for 12 hours. I have tested this multiple times and found it to hold up every time. I have filled my bottle with ice-cold water in the morning and returned the next morning to equally cold water. I fill my bottle every night with fresh, cold water and awake to a still very cold bottle in the morning.

Design

I have always been a fan of the insulated water bottle look. The slightly matte white or black coating just looks cool to me. Avana has taken that great looking design with quality stainless steel and added a functional feature on top with the retractable carry loop. This loop is perfect for attaching to my backpack or carrying by looping on my fingers. I have never been asked by so many people what water bottle I have, and I have never been so excited to answer.

I first thought the straw would be a fun gimmick. What I have been pleasantly surprised with is that the straw is my favorite part of this bottle! It works so beautifully that even my 18-month-old can drink out of this bottle without any problems. I love this bottle so much I quickly ordered multiple more including some for my wife.

I have also quickly come to appreciate the lid that this insulated bottle boasts. With a built in straw lid, and leak proof twist cap, I can enjoy the features mentioned above, all while not worrying about it spilling due to getting toppled over by my toddler.

If you’re looking for a new water bottle, a better way to drink a lot of water, or just something to keep your drinks the desired temperature, look no further than the Avana Beckridge with Freespout.
