What’s so smart about the new featherweight Vizio V Series TV?

I’ve come to a point in my life where it is worth it (possibly even smart) for me to pay a little extra to get something of quality — especially when it comes to technology.

I was recently on the hunt for a new TV. I wanted it to be 4K and be at least 50”. While I utilize my 4K Apple TV, I thought having a smart tv might make some things easier as well.

When I found VIZIO’s newest release, their 55” V Series 4K HDR Smart TV, I was hooked. The price wasn’t bad, but the quality is phenomenal. The second I got my TV delivered I tore (gently took) down my 10-year-old 60” off my wall mount and mounted my new 55”. I love how easy the setup was, and how clean the TV itself is. The bezel is there, but not bad at all. Additionally, because I was able to mount it, I have everything hidden out of sight behind the TV.

The moment I went to pull my old TV off my wall I immediately regretted trying to do it on my own. As I mentioned, it was 10 years old, so it was not just heavy, but very heavy, very large, and, therefore, very awkward. This is another area where my newly beloved VIZIO V Series 4K HDR Smart TV shined bright. While lifting my old TV made me break a sweat, my VIZIO was not the same. It was incredibly light and easy to mount.

The VIZIO SmartCast system is genuinely easy to use and works wonderfully. I even find myself utilizing it occasionally instead of my beloved Apple TV. I also linked my TV with my Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit allowing me to integrate it with Shortcuts and Google Routines.

Additionally, VIZIO created their very own voice remote to work with their operating system. While I was sold on the Apple TV Siri remote, I was pleasantly surprised at how well this remote worked. So well that — dare I say it — if I didn’t already have a 4K Apple TV, I wouldn’t buy one because this TV has it all.

I’ve gotten a chance to watch quite a bit of 4K content on this TV and I have to say I am thrilled to see the quality. The colors are bright, the picture is crisp, and the blacks are so dark. Even just watching the comparison between HD and 4K content is noticeable.

Regarding audio, I have bounced between a handful of soundbars for as long as I can remember. Being a musician myself, I cannot stand simply listening through TV speakers, no matter how great they may be. With that being said I have three soundbars that I am utilizing right now. First, is the VIZIO V Series 2.1. Second, the VIZIO V Series 5.1. And Third, the VIZIO M Series 5.1. While I know that I don’t need a VIZIO soundbar just because I have a VIZIO TV, but I couldn’t resist the quality for the price.
