Kickstart your fitness journey with these five nutritional products

If COVID-19 has taught us anything, it’s that our lives can change overnight. From gyms closing to working from home, I must say I really miss my daily routine of heading to Lifetime after work. As we all try our best to workout at home or outside (at least six feet from anyone), it has been very difficult to maintain a high level of activity without the gym.

I’ve always been interested in nutrition. It’s such a key part of anyone’s fitness journey but, much like working out, everyone’s path is different. Adding nutritional products to a healthy diet can help increase muscle mass, reduce body fat, and even help increase brain cognition. They can also help shed that ‘quarantine 15’ we’ve all gained in the past few weeks!

I tested a few products that would help me work out and stay concentrated during my busy schedule. Here are some of my favorite products and why I believe they are the best on the nutrition market.

1. AvoCollagen

AvoCollagen powder made an excellent addition to my morning smoothie. This is due to the keto-friendly Avocado, which aids the body’s natural collagen production. Since collagen is the largest group of protein in the body, this is a great way to start your day on the right foot. Trust me, your body will thank you for it! The avocado oil also supports healthier hair and nail growth and works to keep skin looking radiant and youthful. Peptides in the mix promote healthier bone and joint structure as well. The AvoCollagen is $35 and comes in three different flavors: Chocolate, vanilla, and unflavored.

2Bucked Up Pre Workout

I’ve tried many different pre-workouts and Bucked Up from DAS Labs is up there with the best of them. Some accelerators are packed with so many different ingredients that your body struggles to process them all at once. The sudden change can inflict some hefty side effects such as headaches, insomnia, and diarrhea. Bucked Up includes prime ingredients such as Citrulline and Actigin to maximize blood flow and increase VO2 Max potential. For $50, Bucked Up has an abundance of flavors to choose from.

3. Impact Whey Protein

Breaking into the protein scene is a tough ask, but MyProtein has made it look fairly easy. Coming in numerous different flavors and sizes, MyProtein’s Impact Whey Protein is packed with goodness. With 18g of protein and very low in sugar, add whey protein to your diet to help grow and maintain the most important muscles. If you are looking to tone up, whey protein can also make you feel fuller, for longer, which can stop unnecessary cravings in between meals. The 2.2 pound bag is available for $30.

4. Solgar Omega-3 Fish Oil

The benefits of Omega-3 and fish oil have stood the test of time. My 6-year-old nephew and my 70-year-old grandfather have both felt the benefits of consuming Omega-3 daily. SOLGAR has been able to provide a concentration of Omega-3 fatty acids from deep-sea, cold-water fish. SOLGAR Omega-3 supports cardiovascular, joint, and metabolic health. This is a great supplement to consume during this tough time for everyone’s cardiovascular health. A 60 serving bottle is available for $13.42.

5. Whole Bar

Don’t have time to make lunch before your next ZOOM meeting? The Whole bar is a friendly alternative that will keep your tummy from rumbling at inopportune times. The bar has 10g of protein and just 4g of carbs making it a perfect alternative to a carb-heavy pasta meal or a sandwich at lunch. RSP offers two different flavors (chocolate, coconut cashew) and a box of 12 is available for $34.97.
