I tested the Eclipse|Black and found them subtlety chic and suitable for everyday wear. Additionally, it comes in a variety of vibrant color options, giving it a stylish and athletic appearance. The upper is constructed from a breathable mesh material that provides ample ventilation while keeping out debris on the trail. Additionally, the shoe’s synthetic overlays offer added durability and support, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. I especially appreciate the added overlay on the shoe toe which held up well against the additional demands of trail running.
Experience:
In terms of traction, the Cloudsurfer Trail shoe excels in providing surefooted grip on a variety of terrain. The outsole features a durable rubber compound with multidirectional lugs that bite into the trail surface, delivering traction and stability in wet and slippery conditions. I find it performs admirably on both packed dirt trails and loose gravel. The Cloudsurfer Trail offers confidence-inspiring grip and control with every step. Additionally, the outsole’s wide contact area provides a stable platform for landing and toe-off. This feature alone enhances my running experience on challenging terrain.
In terms of fit and comfort, the Cloudsurfer Trail is next-level. The roomy toe box gives me a more natural toe splay. I find this prevents discomfort and blisters on long runs. The padded collar and tongue provide plush cushioning around the ankle – a noticeable refinement from the Cloudsurfer. This ensures a snug and secure fit without any hot spots or pressure points. Additionally, its breathable mesh upper keep my feet cool and dry, even during intense workouts in warm weather. Overall, I find the Cloudsurfer Trail to be exceptionally comfortable, allowing me to focus on my run without distraction.

The CloudTec cushioning technology adapts seamlessly to different terrain types, providing a smooth and comfortable ride regardless of the surface. Whether tackling technical singletrack or logging miles on the road, the Cloudsurfer Trail gives me the versatility and performance I need to excel in diverse running environments.
Additional Thoughts:
The Cloudsurfer Trail is loaded with features and benefits. However, one potential downside is its weight. Some runners may find the shoe to be slightly heavier than other trail running options on the market. Personally, I found that the added weight was offset by the superior cushioning and stability. For me this is a worthwhile trade-off for the performance benefits it provides.
If I could change just one feature, it would be a slightly more padded tongue. Similar to the CloudUltra 2, I found the laces would occasionally bite on longer runs. If I could improve one thing, I would add slightly more padding across the foot bridge for additional comfort with the laces.
